Henry A.W. Golld was born in Biala, Poland in 1838 and learned to make watch cases in Switzerland as a young boy. At age 17, he moved to Philadelphia where he was employed by the Jacot firm. In 1872, he moved to New York and formed a partnership with G. Racle, operating at 92 Fulton St. Goll continued the business under the name Henry Goll & Co. after the death of Racle.
Around 1910, the business was moved from 4/6 Liberty Place to 49 Maiden Lane.
Henry A.W. Goll retired around 1914 and died of heart failure in 1921.
