Location: New York
Years of Operation: c.1866-1892
Wholesale jeweler and manufacturer.
The company was organized by Max J. Lissauer and L.H. Sondheim. Later advertisements for Lissauer & Co. claimed the company was established in 1866.
As early as 1884, the company advertised their "L&S" 14K Ladies' gold watch cases with raised gold ornamentation. At the time, they also promoted the full line of Dueber cases. In 1887, the Jewelers Circular noted the company only produced 14K cases - available in 4, 6, 16, and 18-Size.
In April 1888, the company introduced the 10K "Pansy" case with raised ornamentation as they refocused efforts in the watch industry.
On December 31, 1892, the company was dissolved during Mr. Sondheim's retirement and was succeeded by Lissauer & Co.
