Here is a Swiss private label movement sold by a Japan-based auction that claimed it was a product of the Osaka Watch Company. Possibly an Omega. It is engraved with the word “Naniwa”, the name of the ancient city which once stood at the present day location of Osaka., but it says "Swiss Made" on the balance cock. Upon disassembling the movement there are no serial numbers on any part of the watch, which makes this one a bit confusing. The only serial number is found on the case (5977). One interesting note is the presentation box that the watch came in has two deer on the inside, which was used in a number of trademarks by the Japanese clock manufacturer, Takano. However, Takano was a manufacturer that was located in Nagoya, not Osaka. Which adds to the confusion of this Naniwa-signed watch. So the jury is still out on who made this one.
