Illinois Size 18s Model 6

Soon after the introduction of the pendant-set Model 4, the American Waltham Watch Company (Robbins) and the Elgin National Watch Company (Avery) concluded a suit against the Illinois Watch Company for infinging upon a patent for a stem-winding watch [The Jewelers' Circular and Horological Review, October 5, 1892]. The courts decided the Illinois Watch Company was guilty of patent infringement and forced to pay damages to Waltham and Elgin. In early 1893, the company introduced the 18-Size Model 6, a lever-set version of the Model 4 [The Jewelers' Circular and Horological Review, February 8, 1893].
